Aquavac 650

Hydro-Cyclonic pool cleaner robot

Reimagining a pool cleaner robot in every aspect. That was the mandate entrusted to us by Hayward for the design and development of the all-new AquaVac 650. This pool cleaning device combines distinctive design with new technologies and features while seamlessly integrating into Hayward’s product range.

Alto initially worked closely with Hayward to develop the best innovation strategy before creating this new device. We then ensured the overall user experience (UX), in addition to conducting research and analysis, creating numerous mock-ups and prototypes, and providing support for production. The mandate extended to the development of the power unit casing, its interface, and the mobile application enabling full control of the pool cleaner robot.

A technology that prevents any obstruction

The SPINTECH hydro-cyclonic technology, without a filter, creates a suction spiral that maintains maximum and uninterrupted power until the job is completed. Additionally, the adaptive HEXADRIVE traction allows the robot to navigate easily between potential obstacles. The six robust and unique rollers grip all types of pool surfaces, also ensuring the brushing of vertical walls. Furthermore, the TOUCHFREE debris tank and its intuitive opening mechanism allow for emptying the tank in a single motion, without the need to clean it or manually remove debris. Certain parts of the device feature a color code that facilitates identification of gripping areas. The matte black skirts contrast with the opalescent body and the transparent central tank. A finely crafted laser texture adds a level of detail and refinement, all highlighting the technical, modern, and dynamic aspect of the product.

User interface

The design of the power unit casing is intentionally minimalist to draw the user’s attention to its interface. This interface has been designed consistently with the mobile application, also developed in collaboration with Hayward. It allows users to configure the device, update the system, and even control the robotic cleaner remotely.
