COBOT link 6

A collaborative industrial robot

In an increasingly dynamic market, this innovation, created entirely in Quebec, stands out for its ease of use and unparalleled user experience. Link 6 is the first Canadian industrial collaborative robot that offers automation solutions, enhancing daily efficiency while improving the quality and consistency of production results.

Thanks to its processing power and large memory capacity, KINOVA’s Link 6 and its compact controller are ready to meet the most demanding requirements of tomorrow’s artificial intelligence.

Industrial evolution

The design and engineering teams developed its geometry with the goal of creating a robot with a compact and streamlined appearance, while maximizing the reach of the tool head. Several mock-ups and prototypes were created to simulate various architectures and optimize the final configuration. The limited footprint combined with a large working radius gives the Link 6 an undeniable advantage for any industrial application. The machined aluminum shell closely fits the mechanical actuators, giving the robot a compact and agile look. A language combining precision, robustness, and user-friendliness was emphasized to reflect KINOVA’s extensive experience in automation and to break away from the somewhat playful appearance of the competition.

Each joint of the cobot provides access to the various actuators via a series of removable covers, allowing for targeted and rapid maintenance. The covers have been designed and adapted to fit the volume without disrupting the overall smoothness of the form, while creating optimal clearance to facilitate actuator replacement.
